Dickinson ISD Shares Key Dates for Gifted & Talented Program

Dickinson Independent School District (DISD) has released important dates for families regarding the district’s Gifted & Talented (G&T) program, outlining the referral, testing, notification, and service timelines for the 2025–2026 school year.
The referral window begins with universal screening for Kindergarten and 2nd grade students, while referrals for grades 1–11 will be accepted from October 1 through October 31.
Testing for identified students will take place in phases. Kindergarten testing is scheduled for January 20–30, while students in grades 1–11 will be tested from February 23 through March 6.
Following testing, parents will be notified via the email address listed in Skyward. Notification dates are set for February 20 for Kindergarten families and April 24 for grades 1–11.
For students who qualify, Gifted & Talented services will begin on February 26 for Kindergarten students. Students in grades 1–11 will begin receiving services at the start of the following school year.
Dickinson ISD’s Gifted & Talented program is designed to support students with advanced academic needs by providing enriched learning experiences that foster critical thinking, creativity, and academic growth.
