Dickinson ISD to Observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 19

Dickinson Independent School District (DISD) will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The closure applies to all campuses and district offices and serves as a student and staff holiday.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal holiday honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King and his enduring impact on civil rights, equality, and service. The observance provides an opportunity for reflection on the values of leadership, unity, and community engagement.
Classes and regular district operations will resume on Tuesday, January 20. Families and staff are encouraged to use the day to participate in service activities or community events that honor Dr. King’s legacy.
For updates or additional calendar information, families should visit the district website or follow official Dickinson ISD communication channels.
